Job Description

Meridian has an opportunity available for a Web Designer Developer to support the front-end development of Meridian's incentive and loyalty marketing lines of business.

The candidate will combine the art of design with the skill of programming to design and develop high-quality designs and responsive websites using Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap and JavaScript/jQuery.



  • Responsible for the development and implementation of the user interfaces for Meridian's product and services websites.
  • Responsible for leading the design specifications and associated code of web based UI for our various program websites using established best practices and web usability standards.
  • Work closely with the designers and back-end developers to build high quality mockups, prototypes, and websites that exceed our clients' expectations.
  • Communicate with Project Managers and Business Analysts to assess client needs, discuss requirements, and clarify goals and objectives for website implementation.
  • Meet with Project Managers on a regular basis to evaluate progress and iterate designs and solutions as needed.
  • Create websites that are user-friendly, effective, current and aesthetically appealing.
  • Create clean, semantic front-end code that will interface properly with back-end code.
  • Give expert design advice on projects, and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Make recommendations on the use of new and emerging technologies to integrate them into new

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Information Technology / Visual Design
  • Ability to work independently and with teammates to understand detailed requirements and architect user experiences that meet business requirements and vision
  • Pixel perfect attention to detail and superb organization skills
  • Team player, a positive attitude, good listener, and client-first approach

Technical Qualifications

  • Extensive experience coding usable/responsive interfaces for both desktop and mobile devices
  • In-depth knowledge of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3 and Responsive Design standards
  • Proficiency with Bootstrap
  • Experience with JavaScript/jQuery
  • Proficiency with Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Be able to provide a full portfolio of current, custom responsive websites and/or applications in which you were the sole designer and front-end developer

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with a few MVC client-side frameworks, preferably Angular
  • Experience with graphical animation, using HTML5
  • Experience using Source Repositories. Ex. SVN, GIT
