Job Description

Meridian Loyalty Business Analysts work closely with Loyalty & Incentive business teams to facilitate completion of client and internal IT solutions. This position is responsible for determining and documenting functional requirements to meet business needs, working with account management and development teams to determine appropriate solutions, and coordinate small projects through completion.

Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.
  • Define business requirements and translate into functional requirements.
  • Conducting meetings to share ideas, collaborate across business groups and reach consensus on approaches to IT solutions.
  • Support teams of developers, QA and support staff in development sprints on new solutions.
  • Coordinate and lead smaller IT projects, being accountable for budgets, scope and timeline.
  • Test projects and/or work with QA team members on creating, validating and executing test scripts against requirements.
  • Perform gap analysis, end-to-end process mapping, needs evaluation and create scope documents for IT solutions.
  • Conduct recurring meetings to manage tasks, workflows and incoming change requests.
  • Recommend new or improved controls to solve problems, and implement these controls.
  • Create prototypes and wireframes for web-based functional requirements, being familiar with industry usability standards.
  • Negotiate agreements when gaps in business needs and functionality are identified.
  • Perform basic and moderately complex reporting using data tables, pivot tables and other data analysis tools.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate risks.
  • Communicate and escalate issues/risks as necessary.
  • Communicate and escalate project changes if/when necessary.
  • Create and track tasks using JIRA tracking tool.
  • Drive resolution of Ops maintenance and break/fix tasks.

 Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field or related work experience.
  • Two years minimum experience in performing basic qualifications
  • Documenting business/functional requirements
  • Successfully meeting deadlines
  • Strong web usability and web modeling techniques
  • Process models/flows, business rules, issue logs, and test plans
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Organizing requirements, planning meetings and effectively using stand-ups and sprints for building software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification
  • Certificate or training in Business Analyst standards and techniques

 Additional Information

  • Available to work evenings and weekends if/when client needs require such.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
  • Available for occasional overnight travel.
